dweniusWhat is the first use/publication of the scientific unit of measurement "furlongs per fortnight"?? As in (from a /. book review today), "the speed of light in a vacuum is 1,802,617,499,785.253 furlongs per fortnight" ? I recall first hearing the term in the dim and distant past, but can't for the life of me extract the original reference.
