So Tommy Thompson, ex Bush Health Secretary, is pushing a proposal to have RFID chips inserted into US citizens, supposedly to hold health history.

I'm not certain that I can sufficiently communicate the magnitude of the Fuck You I'm holding here.

I can't decide if I want mine on my right hand or my forehead.

I can't quite tell you how horrified this makes me. This RFID stuff is the same thing that allows people to flash radio waves at a piece of merchandise and have the merchandise report an ID number. A computer can then call up the item's entire history. They can be printed on paper now. They cost pennies to manufacture. If they can be printed on paper, could they be tattoo'd on skin?

RFID beacons could become as ubiquitous and invisible as the pillars now so common as security measures in retail stores, so that one could monitor people's location as they went in and out of buildings every day, or passed by little radio frequency beacons in bus stations and such.

Big brother Marconi. Oh, I think I'm going to be ill. (No, that doesn't mean I need a chip embedded in my skin!)
