Remember all that great Goa trance of about a decade ago? Do you miss it, like I do, in this age of (comparatively) mindless goes-nowhere "progressive" trance? Get over to your favorite throwback DJ store, say, Saiko Sounds (where 2 day courier service is cheaper than 2 week air mail, from Hong Kong?? What?), sort their catalog by Label, and buy something on Suntrip Records. The _Apsara_ compilation is a good start, or either Heliopolis album. Old school ripping, dripping, complicated, melodic Goa, no lie. Makes my chakras jingle and all my children spin in little circles until they fall down.

Going slightly further back to, oh, 1991 or so, fans of the Orb and the KLF-- and to paraphrase [livejournal.com profile] jgcr, how can you NOT be a fan of the world's only white, Glaswegian, Discordian, stadium house rap stars?-- should be ecstatic to learn that Alex Paterson and Jimi Cauty have released an album as The Transit Kings, called _Living in a Giant Candle Winking at God_. Whatever your expectations may be upon first hearing this news, the album will exceed them. There is an accompanying EP for completists (cough).
