I joke about how much I sweat in Bikram, but this morning I actually weighed myself before and after. 3 pounds of sweat left me in that 90 minutes.

I don't know whether to cheer or cringe.

Whoa! I'm sure you know there's a huge learning and performance hit with dehydration: be careful driving after. Can't find a bikram in Adelaide; am mumbling along with a hatha group run by an old friend. Still, with the weather here over 100 every day this week (105 yesterday) , I guess I get to sweat anyway.

If I don't rehydrate, I know it very quickly; headache, weird sinus behavior, all kinds of stuff. I drink a quart of water on the drive home, and another quart in the first hour after getting into the office. It seems to work out ok.

I've always wondered about doing bikram outdoors in someplace like Houston or Bangladesh. Black Rock is too dry, I think, but that in itself could be interesting.

If "a pint is a pound the world around," then your instinct to suck down two quarts of water right away sounds pretty good to me.

well now then there
