In the Oakland airport this morning, there is a cop with K-9 inside the security area, randomly wandering around and sniffing bags and people.

Isn't that a blatant admission that the TSA crews and all their fancy equipment are incapable of performing their job?

I would view that as a blatant admission that local law enforcement wants their cut of the daily haul.

Bingo. I actually asked one of OC Sheriffs what the hell they were officially supposed to accomplish by this sort of behavior when I saw them at Santa Ana International the last time I flew through there. The answer? "Display of force."

Yeah.

Was he a cute dog?

(Yea, I know, so not the point. But it was the first question that came to mind. Also, K-9 prolly looking for drugs rather than bombs, yes? Not much that TSA does will catch that...)

For all the fancy equipment that TSA has, they still cannot find the drugs that you have hidden inside your rectum.
