John Aravosis at AmericaBlog lays out this interesting analysis of the Miers withdrawl. He has a bit too much "take THAT!" attitude in his logic, which almost guarantes that the universe will not let it play out that way for real, but it is a deeply satisfying read nonetheless.

Huh. I was more or less dis-agreeing with their take on most of it, but then at the end they came to the same conclusion I have: the next appointee with make the religious right happy, it will get shot completely to pieces, and then Gonzalez will stroll into the job relatively unscatched.
