Referring to stem cell research, President Bush said this: "I've made very clear to Congress that the use of federal taxpayer money to promote science that destroys life in order to save life, I am against this".
Right then. That's pretty clear and unambiguous. So, I wonder when we'll see the defense budget cuts announced? Surely, developing new "more usable" nuclear weapons, including the "bunker-busting" Robust Nuclear Earth Penetrator, would be strictly forbidden by such a strong statement of moral principle as President Bush espouses above.
Or am I, once again, merely expecting the most straightforward forms of reason and honesty from my elected officials? Damn my 3rd grade civics class...
