Today I...
May. 20th, 2005 11:59 pm- Woke up, took one call, made one call, and thus delegated a half dozen things to other people. Good, now the day is almost clear.
- Folded and put away ~20 cubic feet of laundry, including a big box of clean stuff we packed and moved from the old house three weeks ago, plus washed the sheets on the bed, for good measure.
- Received absolutely no interesting news about the future of my company.
- Cleaned under the sink in the MBR, where the plumbers left plumber fewments all over the place, and put "things that go under the sink" back there, wiped down the sink and new fixture itself, then swept more plumber droppings off the floor, for good measure.
- Replaced the flaky, pressure mount, step-to-release door gate leading to Nina's room with a nice solid screw-in model with no nifty features that might inexplicably fail. And yes, the gate is there to keep Calvin from running in there and climbing up into her loft bed as soon as our backs are turned.
- Took all the books off the 7 foot bookshelf in our room, moved it to the other wall, bolted it to the wall with an earthquake strap, swapped the not-quite-right shelf holder thingies with the absolutely correct paddle shaped replacements, reloaded all the books, then unpacked three more boxes of books and made them fit on that bookshelf, for good measure.
- Moved the bed (ok, the mattress on the floor...tomorrow, maybe, there will be a bed), made the bed, placed our new, small, cool green/gray/brown mandala rug in between the bed and the bookshelf.
- Admired my work. Pity about the other five boxes in the room, but there's only so much time in the day. And so to bed.
