The S.F. Chronicle has a piece by Joel Selvin that hits the highlights of various music videos available on YouTube. All of which is well and good, there are some good, great, and goofy things included, but you need to go watch this 1958 video of Miles and Coltrane playing "So What" right now.

Fun book for the science minded

Feynman's Lost Lecture: the Motion of Planets Around the Sun, by David and Judith Goodstein, is a truly remarkable little book. I am squarely in the target audience for a book like this, but if anything, I enjoyed it EVEN MORE than I expected to. ( clicky clicky for a review and some minor spoilers )

What with being late to the game and all, and several of my choices being used already, and the general unavailability of SIPs for more than half of the books I would have put on the list, this took a really long time. ( But I found 10, of varying difficulty... )
