Boy, that was an awful lot of water

...seeping in through the sliding glass door into the basement, standing around under the power strip that keeps all computers including this one running, soaking the carpeting in the hallway a good 6 inches inwards, and stopping juuuuust short of the run upon which the entirety of the music studio sits. So, a Wet/dry vac was borrowed, many towels soiled and soaked, sandbags applied outside the door, neighbors called to continue discussion of our/their drainage problems (they are downhill from us).

Not a good way to start the day. The immediate problem is solved, but tonight, at 2am, when Rose has us both awake and I hear the rain and wind screaming, I do believe I will be toddling downstairs to check things out.
